About The New England Sand Sculpting Festival
The idea for the New England Sand Sculpting Invitational came from master sculptor Sean Fitzpatrick. After a highly
sucessful commissioned project for the city of Revere, MA in 2004, he launched a pilot project at Revere Beach in the summer
of 2005 and introduced Massachusetts and the New England area to the world of professional sand sculpting events.
Under his leadership the festival gained attention around the globe and was featured on several national media outlets such as the
Today Show, Good Morning America and the Travel Channel. The City of Revere became the envy of many surrounding communities as a result
of that events success. In 2006 Fitzy Snowman Sculpting began talks with other communities and successfully launched several new
pilot projects. Currently we oversee sand sculpting events in Salisbury, MA, Mashpee, MA, Fairfield, CT and are continuing to
develop new sand sculpture event locations today.
